Humber Personnel Labour Agency – HPLA specialises in providing resource to the Ports and Warehousing industry ranging from proving the lesser established skills such as Banksmen and Lashers to the more critical roles such as crane drivers and Reach stackers, tugs, flts etc. HPLA has a long standing relationship with the Ports providing berthing and mooring to a number of customers on request. With its key Position under the Portull umbrella HPLA has access to Portull Training services and is able to utilise its trainers and equipment to the full capacity enabling HPLA to upskill its operatives to nationally recognised certification constantly providing a service which is unmatched as far as provision of experienced and trained operatives.

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed and industry-supported scheme that helps businesses protect themselves against the growing threat of cyber attacks and provides a clear statement of the basic controls organisations should have in place to protect themselves.
It is the UK Government’s answer to a safer internet space for organisations of all sizes, across all sectors. Developed and operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Cyber Essentials is considered the best first step to a more secure network, protecting you from 80% of the most basic cyber security breaches.
Gaining Cyber Essentials certification also enables organisations HPLA / Portull to showcase their credentials as trustworthy and secure when it comes to cyber security.





HPLA Services for Clients. 
HPLA prides itself on providing operatives to a site fully inducted and trained with the necessary PPE to cover roles requested via its clients. With its Fleet of 11 vehicles on site transport is provided to area’s outside of the local area. -With a strong core of many experienced operatives a shadowing and training process is in place to ensure that all operatives are at a suitable level to conduct the duties assigned. -24 Hours on-call 7 days a week is provided for the customer which gives the customer access to a large number of fully flexible operatives who can arrive on site with short notice depending on availability. -HPLA has an experienced back office staff dealing with labour allocation, Invoices and wages and administrating the training making sure the transaction from initial enquiry to boots on the floor is a smooth and clear transition. -We are able to offer consultancy looking at a clients operation and giving advice on efficiency and cost effectiveness utilising their own workforce and HPLA’S employees to the full capacity.

We specialise in the Ports industry with a number of large contracts which operatives are allocated to on request and moved to different sites depending on demand. HPLA also cover a large number of clients Berthing requirements and warehousing roles which training is often provided for.

Port Operatives (Experience needed)
HPLA are currently recruiting for a number of Port Operatives to cover positions across a number of Ports who are flexible and willing to travel to locations outside of Hull when required. Shifts are flexible and dependent on shipping demands. 
Humber Personnel Labour Agency – HPLA Hull and Surrounding Areas £9.35 – 13.15 an hour Applicants must have at least 1 year experience within the Ports Industry. 
Rates of pay range from £9.35 to £13.15 dependant on role and shift allocated. Training will be provided for proven candidates on various heavy machinery utilising our existing training team at Portull Training Services. 
Transport to be provided to locations outside of Hull. Proven time served operatives will be placed on weekly Salary after an initial period For immediate Start. Existing Plant operatives will be prioritised.    


Job Vacancy
HPLA are currently recruiting for operatives to cover
1400-2200 shift for an established manufacturer based in Howden.
Reach Truck or LLOP operators preferred.
Must have own means of Transport and flexible to work overtime at Weekend when required.
This is a temporary contract running until November but full time positions may be offered to the proven candidate.

Training 
HPLA being part of the Portull Group give HPLA the unique opportunity to provide training at cost to an operatives and clients needs with Nationally recognised certification at the Award Winning Portull Training Centre. Upskilling is provided as necessary to a customers demands and often provided to time served operatives who show initiative and promise to enable them to reach their potential. Depending on the role assigned a period of shadowing is assigned to every operative employed to make sure they are comfortable with the role and the client is happy to go forward utilising the operative.   





F.A.Q 
Client – 
What notice period do we have to give when ordering operatives ? 
We generally work with 24 hours notice for up to 5 operatives but if you require larger number we will require at least 4-7 days notice. Currently HPLA have in employment 100+ operatives on flexible contracts.   

What are the charge Rates ? 
The rates are discussed and set in place at the commencement of labour provision. Training, PPE, location, Skills and shifts required are all taken in consideration when charge rates are discussed.   

How are operatives transported to site ?
Socially distanced busses and Cars are available for all our operatives outside of Hull   

How do I contact the business outside of office hours? 
We have a 24 hour on-Call service to deal with any issues that may arise.   

Is PPE Provided? 
All PPE is provided with HPLA logos to clearly identify the operatives.   

Employee - 
What is the salary? 
Port Operative salaries range from £9.35 – £13.35 depending on shift and location and role allocated. Warehouse roles are dependent on the client involved and typically range from £9.35 to £20.00+   

Is PPE Provided? 
All PPE is provided.  

How do I get to location if it is outside of Hull and I have no transport? 
We have a fleet of cars and drivers capable of transporting operatives to and from the place of work.   

Will I have to pay for training? 
All training is provided for using our Award winning training centre at Portull Training. The training is done via cost to the agency.
